Cornerstone Church, McAllen TX
Dear Father,
I thank You for the work You are doing at Cornerstone Church of Mcallen, TX. I ask for your blessings on their current sermon series “Nothing is Wasted”. Father, as You know, those words have very special meaning to me, words of encouragement given to me by a dear friend a few years ago when I was very discouraged. I ask that You bless this series, that people who are discouraged in various adversities in life find hope and peace.
Father, as You know, I do not have permission to reprint this church’s vision statement. I’m going to trust my brothers and sisters in Christ from Cornerstone will be gracious to me. However, I love this vision statement. It shows a heart in the church that really wants to see lives touched by the love of Jesus Christ. This is a testimony-friendly church vision statement:
As we LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS, & SERVE THE WORLD we have a God-given dream, a God-given vision that we live out. It is…
a dream to see thousands in the Rio Grande Valley and the world connect with God, by receiving His Son Jesus as Savior and Lord and learn to live with His power in their lives…
a dream to see individuals, families, marriages, and friendships strengthened, restored, and thriving in the power of the Gospel
a dream to reach a generation that longs for something legitimate and authentic with Christ and His Church by showing them what real faith looks like and loves like…
a dream to reach those who are disillusioned with church and have written church off by creating an environment that is welcoming, exciting, innovative, and creative and allows them to connect with God and with others…
a dream to be a church that always risks, steps out in faith, and reaches beyond its grasp; to be a church that never plays it “safe”…
a dream to build authentic community among the people who make up Cornerstone Church; a place where people care about each other and invest in each other’s lives…
a dream to build the lives of those who do know Christ in the power of His Gospel and help them to discover their God-given gifts and abilities so that they can use them to reach others, bless others, and grow God’s church, for God’s glory…
a dream to be a church that reflects our community; a church of different races and ethnicities that are united in our identity in Christ…
a dream to be a church that lives out radical generosity, lives by faith and not by sight, and plants other churches…
a dream to be a place where Jesus reigns; a place of excitement, relevance, laughter, joy, conviction, and life-change where people know they can be themselves, where they can be a part of a Christ-centered community that will love and accept them without fear of judgment; a place where people worship God heart and soul, live through the power of the Gospel, connect with each other, and impact the world.
Father, I ask that You create more and more testimonies in this church. Encourage people within the church to share their testimonies with each other and on the church website. May Your blessings be on Cornerstone Church.
In Jesus name,
Amen
